EIO Activities Day 2

This day I have spent the day at the marketing department. The person who I spent the day with, is Monique van Stipdonk, who is the Senior International Brand Manager at STG. She showed me the things she had to deal with whilst doing her job. Of course, tobacco is not an easy product, if I may put it like that. It has to do with many health issues and is of course a product that is regulated by strict laws. From 2016 on, there are new laws that say that the health risks (SMOKING KILLS, SMOKING RUINS YOUR TEETH etc.) must be indicated in a larger way on the package. So that means that every single package has to be adapted to the new laws, which gives loads and loads of work.
I have also spoken with Bart, who investigates the economies of different countries (Brazil, India, Tanzania etc.) for potential new companies. He told me very interesting stories about foreign economies and how he managed to create deals for a cooperation between STG and foreign tobacco companies.
After that I have been to a video conference between STG Eersel and STG USA. That was a special experience, but for them it was just another conference, as they have them every 2 weeks. It was a simple and formal meeting.
This day, was just like yesterday interesting, and educational.
